Consultation & Assessment

The relationship between you and your trainer is an important one: you must be comfortable with your trainer and their philosophies. The consultation provides time to establish that relationship, assess your goals and needs, and establish clear expectations. This is the first step to improving your relationship with your dog.

Pricing: $100.00 for a two hour consult*

*if you decide to proceed with our services, you will receive an $100.00 credit toward the service you choose

Puppy Selection & Obedience (In-home, private training)

We also offer assistance in selecting the right puppy (or rescue dog) for you. This includes everything from an assessment of the breed, sex, and temperament that are the best fit for you, to helping you find a reputable and reliable breeder, to basic obedience training. This service will best match your new puppy or dog to your family’s lifestyle and lead to a more fulfilling relationship throughout your dog’s life.

Pricing: determined by the time invested (which will vary from customer to customer) and will be discussed during the initial consultation

Basic Obedience (In-home, private training)

This series of lessons is designed to teach your dog the foundation of obedience training. The lessons focus on teaching you and your family members to take the role of pack leader, which will help your dog fill the role of the follower in the pack. This is an essential step in training your dog to work for you. The lessons include teaching your dog to heel and sit automatically when you stop walking; sit, down, and stay from various positions; recall (the ‘come’ command); and hand signals and other basic commands. We also teach you about the different personalities that dogs exhibit, how to customize the training process for your dog, and the keys to effective training.

Pricing: $500.00 for 6 one hour sessions

Advanced Obedience (In-home, private training)

Once your dog has mastered basic obedience, the advanced series will give your dog the necessary skills to work off lead. We start working with long lines, body ties, and other equipment to improve control in a safe way. We then progress to off-lead work, building on the skills your dog learned in basic obedience. When you have finished this course, you will be able to take your dog with you wherever you go, with the confidence that they will remain under your control.

Pricing: $500.00 for 6 one hour sessions

Behavioral Problem Solving

Employing motivation, praise, and correction training techniques, we will provide solutions for unwanted behavioral problems. Through an understanding of inherited and environmental causes, we will work to develop creative solutions for aggressive behavior, nuisance barking, chewing, house training, and other common (or uncommon) issues.

We will consider working with all breeds and all behavior problems.

Pricing: $100.00/hour

Security & Protection Training

If you are considering getting a new dog or training an existing dog for personal protection, we can provide the training you need. We train bluff dogs (dog will bark/alert to a threat), protection dogs, and attack dogs. The consultation is an important first step to determine your security and protection needs.

Pricing: $125.00/hour

Other Training

We also provide a variety of other training services, including service/support needs (human assistance), tracking, rally obedience, and agility. Please call or email us to discuss any additional training needs that you may have.

Pricing: $100.00/hour

Availability

Appointments are available Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 8 PM. Special arrangements may be available outside these hours if necessary. K911 serves the city of Edmonton and area. An additional travel charge may apply based on mileage and travel time. Please request a quote if you live outside the city of Edmonton.
